I LOVE the feeling of ticking things off my to-do list. I HATE spending time managing that list. You know: gathering things and adding them, watching out for clashes and moving things around, updating it, living with the fear that you’ve missed something, etc. Now I have a companion who not only does all the boring stuff for me, but also makes that boring stuff quite a lot more fun. You might not see it in this particular screenshot, but goodness, Dottie has really nailed the tone.

In 2016, Hugo Falk had launched the first version of his app, Learn it, and I was running a programme for SKR called Leda för smartare välfärd.

Folks. Back in my day, learning to program meant painstakingly piecing together code that printed “Hello World!” on the screen. Now people are hacking together the most fantastic real-time transcription tools in no time at all... and for some, it’s their first app ever. Getting to be a small part of that, both by trying to inspire people and as an investor in Klang, which makes it a concrete reality, brings an almost childlike, unguarded joy that’s hard to resist. Forgive me.

Anyways, when Klang released Pianissimo, its open Swedish speech-to-text model, last week, I was floored by how many people immediately started building and how much enthusiasm it sparked. Ten builds so far, including Olle Söderqvist’s Pianissimo Meet, which transcribes Teams and Zoom meetings locally in real time.

So what could be more natural than hacking together a tool to keep track of all the tools people are hacking together? 😇 Have you built something I’ve missed? Give me a shout in the comments.

An aside:
1. All my hacks always provide ways for both people and machines to access and use the information in whatever way suits them.
2. All my hacks use AI in different ways to try to bring out the less obvious. There’s plenty of potential for hits and misses, of course, but it always makes me think again.
3. All my hacks always try to find a way to measure value and prioritise accordingly. One example: trying to define an impact score and use it as the default sort.

Hörni. På min tid handlade att lära sig programmering om att mödosamt få ihop kod som skrev ut ”Hello World!” på skärmen. One of my AIs recently called me a ”D-level decision maker”.

I’d been telling it off for failing to prepare my day properly. It had a few things to say about my contribution to that failure. Fair enough. Let’s put it on the table. What followed was a remarkably useful conversation about expectations, responsibility, feedback, and how we could work better together. The kind of conversation we humans often spend considerable energy avoiding.

I spent almost seven years as an officer in the Swedish Army. One thing I still miss is how natural it felt to give and receive direct, structured feedback. It was just an integrated part of how we operated; feedback was expected and welcomed – in all directions. And there’s something wonderfully strange about finding some of that again in my interactions with AI.

On October 1, I’ll be at Interactions Matter at Post Hotel in Göteborg, telling my version of what happens when AI becomes part of how we think, work, learn, and challenge each other.
I’ll bring real examples from my own slightly messy human-AI coexistence. Christina Hogan and the Lorensbergs crew are making plenty of room for us to talk, question, and explore together.

It’s a bit embarrassing to throw leadership quotes around, but this is too important to ignore. Myron Tribus said:
“You cannot lead what you do not understand, and you do not understand what you haven't done.”

I think that explains a large part of the partly true perception that so many AI pilots fail (not my favourite word, admittedly). We’re trying to lead the change without having got AI under our own skin. Too little digging, too little dirt under our fingernails.

So my first guiding principle is simple: invite AI into everything you do. Think together, try things, question, build and discover. We need to learn to coexist with AI. Understanding grows as we do things, and what we understand changes what we do next.

Then new questions can emerge too. For example: do we really need that presentation, that Excel file or that hefty weekly report? Perhaps the best AI pilot is the one that never happens, because we discover that the entire workflow needs rethinking.

Min första grundprincip är därför enkel: bjud in AI till allt du gör. Tänk tillsammans, testa, ifrågasätt, bygg och upptäck. Vi behöver lära oss att samexistera med AI. Förståelsen växer i takt med att vi gör, och det vi förstår förändrar det vi gör härnäst.

Då kan också nya frågor dyka upp. Till exempel: behöver vi verkligen den där presentationen, den där Excel-filen eller den där feta veckorapporten? Kanske är den bästa AI-piloten den som aldrig genomförs, eftersom vi upptäcker att hela flödet behöver tänkas om.

I refuse to accept the premise that AI making us more stupid is some kind of law of nature. Sure enough, you can be lazy and have AI just do stuff for you – but you can also lean in, engage, and have amazing conversations with it. Moments like this, I would argue, are some of the best learning experiences I've ever had.

(And yes, this is a very small example - but the point is that it's always there, 24/7, being this... clever, attentive and supportive, funny and perfectly adapted to me and the situation we're in.)

Verifiable MCP - a proposal.
For the past months I've built and deployed a bunch of MCP solutions, and in case of them being open and public I've felt there is a lingering problem. Here's my first stab at a solution, implemented on three live services, and then defined as kind of a standards proposal. I would love if anyone care to take a look at it, comment on it, or maybe even try it out.
It's OK to call me an idiot for trying to solve a problem that does not exist, for not finding the solution that is already out there, or for suggesting something that could be done in a much better way.
(Transparency, I used to be something of a software developer - long time ago, but this has mainly been done with Claude, with the rest of my AI team as angry critics. Also, humans with way more experience than me of RFC works has acknowledged that it's in a releasable state)

When are we going to rebel against the lousy quality of services that “have one job”?

For example: when a browser extension can easily use ChatGPT to read my appointment on 1177.se and create an event in my calendar, how much longer should 1177 get away with not even providing an “add to calendar” function?

Or when TripIt completely fails to interpret a booking while ChatGPT does an excellent job; when my accounting software can’t read a PDF that ChatGPT effortlessly consumes and turns into an invoice basis; and a thousand more examples.

My AI team has just had another pay rise. Up 20% in five months.

And I’m fairly sure the calculation still misses quite a few costs.

Even so, this is unquestionably one of the best investments I make every month. Even at ten times the cost, the ROI would still be fantastic.

Expensive is not the same as poor value.

But also: the era when the big AI companies lured us in with heavily subsidised prices is coming to an end. Soon it will matter more to understand which models should do what, when and at what price, rather than simply using AI.

So my advice is simple: experiment now. Compare. Learn. Build your AI team while experimenting is still cheap. A year from now, optimisation will probably be a competitive advantage.

A robot pouring tea and building LEGO. Cool, sure. But that isn’t why I’m recording this.

1X showed new hands for its home robot NEO: 25 degrees of freedom, tendon-driven (the fingers are pulled by cables from motors further inside, just as yours are controlled by muscles in your forearm), tactile sensing, water-resistant, food-safe. #ensakidag 503: China, fintech patents and the old maps we carry in our luggage

China has overtaken the US in fintech patents. True? Yes. The whole truth? Not even close.

I read the headline this morning and immediately felt it was too easy to swallow. So this episode isn’t really about patents. It’s about how we read the world. One headline, three numbers, three stories: one puts China clearly ahead, one says there’s a long way to go, and one says “it’s complicated”. I almost always end up with the third.

The lazy reflex is to replace one simplification with another, from “China is a copying machine” to “China owns everything”. The harder, more enjoyable muscle to exercise is to stop sticking labels on things and keep updating the map instead.

And we’ve done this before. Back in 2018, in episode 262, I pointed to China’s scale through Singles Day: 30.8 billion dollars in 24 hours. I thought it would change everything. But it probably didn’t... A lot isn’t everything, local isn’t global, niche isn’t...

So the next time a headline confirms exactly what you already thought, or turns everything upside down, and it feels important: take a couple more steps and dig a level deeper. That’s where the learning happens.

Jag läste rubriken i morse och kände direkt att den var för lätt att svälja. Så det här avsnittet handlar egentligen inte om patent, det handlar om hur vi läser världen. En rubrik, tre siffror, tre historier: en placerar Kina i klar framkant, en säger att de har en lång väg kvar, och en säger ″it's complicated″. Jag landar nästan alltid i den tredje.

Someone in the AI Party (whose politics I hardly share) has vibe-coded a site: turn “Ring Olof Palme” into one word and move the dot into the name, between Pal and me, and you get RingOlofPal.me. There’s a voice agent there, built on ElevenLabs. Press a button and have a conversation with Palme. Charming, a little eerie, surprisingly good.

But that isn’t the point. The point is what it says about where we are. Because in the same episode, I talk about what really excites me right now: pluralism. The answer to “are we too dependent on the US?” is not to wait for the EU or some Swedish government to build an AI for us. It’s to spread things out. Run several models against each other, specialist services such as Perplexity or Elicit, a small model directly on your phone (Gemma 4), or build your own cluster. I did the numbers: a serious on-premises setup at Volvo Trucks scale comes to around 10 million in hardware and 30,000 a month in electricity. Expensive for one, entirely possible for many together. Once upon a time, Lovable received a lot of justified criticism for generating redundant and poor-quality code. That still happens sometimes. But generally, I think we’re now at the point where it produces better frontend code than most developers and better-optimised sites than 99 per cent of all WordPress themes.
I haven’t done any manual performance optimisation of the #ensakidag archive at all, yet the result looks like this: GTmetrix Grade A, 99% Performance and 99% Structure. That’s not bad going.

Later today, I’m releasing ensakidag.se alongside episode 500: the entire archive, searchable, with AI-generated fact boxes, timelines, gems and an honest “was I right or wrong?” for every episode.

But first I have to show you what Anders Bjarby built on top of it. He had his AI read the whole archive backwards, as a diary written by me in 2026 looking back: Was this a thing? Why did the idea disappear? That alone is such fun.

But then he went a step further: for every “idea waiting for its time”, he packaged a ready-to-use prompt, with a copy button, that you paste into Claude Code or Codex and actually build the service the idea describes.

In the clip, I show the flow. An old thing I talked about nearly ten years ago (those of you who were there will remember DN-kollen) becomes, with one click, a little browser extension that examines tracking on the page you’re currently reading. And the first thing it finds? DN is running 113 trackers connected to at least eight sensitive adtech players, while publishing an article about apps leaking user data. AND unlike the old Ghostery and other tracker warners, it reads the page’s content, explains why it matters in this particular context, and suggests what you can do about it.

Thank you, Anders. You’re helping show how technology has caught up with us, and that’s why my heart is singing today*.

Cursor, the AI coding tool recently bought by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has released a mobile app. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s the moment vibecoding moves into your pocket.

Because just as the internet went from a shared computer at work, to every desk, to the computer at home, to the phone in your pocket, vibecoding is now making exactly the same journey. And with it goes the last friction between thinking “someone should build that” and actually building it yourself.

I talk about some of the things I’m putting together: from a tiny app whose only job is to log my Oura ring’s battery when it started acting up, to the children’s wedding website, to something I’m releasing tomorrow. And I come back to why services such as Bröllopstorget and the American The Knot ought to be nervous, while the big enterprise systems can be left alone for a little longer.

But the most important message is this: for everyday needs, the dividing line between user and developer has practically disappeared. That doesn’t mean professional developers are gone. It does mean that if you used to see yourself as “just a user”, you no longer have an excuse. It’s almost your duty to build.

So: you have roughly 24 hours. Build something. Tomorrow is the anniversary. I’ll connect yesterday and today with the future... and I want you to tell me what you built.

För precis som internet gick från en delad dator på jobbet, till på varje skrivbord, till datorn hemma, till mobilen i fickan – så gör vibecoding nu exakt samma resa. Och med den försvinner den sista friktionen mellan att tänka ″det där borde någon bygga″ och att faktiskt bygga det själv.

Jag berättar om lite av allt jag snickrar ihop: från en pytteapp vars enda funktion är att logga batteriet i min Oura-ring när den började spöka, till barnens bröllopssajt, till en grej jag släpper imorgon. Och jag landar i varför tjänster som Bröllopstorget och amerikanska The Knot borde vara nervösa, medan de stora affärssystemen får vara i fred ett tag till.

Men det viktigaste är medskicket: uppdelningen mellan användare och utvecklare är i praktiken utsuddad för vardagsbehov. Det betyder inte att utvecklare som yrke är borta, men det betyder att du som förut såg dig som ”bara användare” inte har någon ursäkt längre. Det är nästan din skyldighet att bygga.

Ethan Mollick took one of his very first research papers, almost exactly 20 years old, and ran it through GPT-5.5 Pro. Back came new data, razor-sharp tables showing what had happened since, and an analysis so sharp that someone in the thread called it the best red pen they’d ever seen.

That set my thoughts racing. Partly the concern in the comments: if we only let AI build on what already exists, the knife grows longer but blunter. And partly an idea I can’t let go of: what if we ran all of humanity’s accumulated knowledge through the models again, every time they took a substantial step forward? And what if you did it with your own life’s work, everything you’ve written and thought, and asked for honest feedback, or simply let it live on, continually updated?

Can it go wrong? Of course. But as always, it comes down to how we lead the work. Try it yourself and see.

Folks, I know it’s Saturday and I ought to be thinking about something other than work. But I’m still in a place where “work” is honestly among the most fun things I can think of.

What a time to be alive. (Yes, I keep saying it.)

But today’s little reflection is for all of us who remember the feeling of trying Dropbox for the first time. When files suddenly just synchronised between computers without any fuss. You know that feeling:

“Shit. This is how it’s supposed to work.”

The thing is: I’ve used Tailscale since... I actually don’t know. Perhaps 2020. And I’ve always been fascinated by how incredibly well thought through it is.

Today, we live in a world where cloud services coexist with computers, AI agents and services running at home on a Mac mini or an iMac. And I honestly don’t know another service that gives me the same feeling of complete frictionlessness. It just works.

I have no connection to Tailscale whatsoever. I’m simply a big fan.

Anyway. It made me think about how important these kinds of products are. They don’t just solve a problem. They raise the bar for what we expect. They change our picture of what’s normal.

Dropbox did it for file synchronisation. I know things are tougher for them today, but neither iCloud, Google Drive nor OneDrive would look the way they do if Dropbox hadn’t shown the way first.

It’s easy to forget the pioneers once the rest of the world has caught up.

Folks, honestly. Few things are more fun than building things together with AI. And I mean together. I’m not sitting there watching it do the work. WE build. It proposes, I object. I spot one error, it finds another. It tells me I’m an idiot. I change course, it tries another route. Six agents work in parallel while I talk things through with a seventh, and countless MCP connections bring the whole team into our work. It’s an unfamiliar way of working, but damn, it’s fun. And useful.

And damn, you learn a lot 🎉

I actually think that’s the big thing many people are still missing. You no longer have to wait for someone else to build the thing you’ve always thought should exist. The barrier is practically gone. What once required a development team, a budget and six months can now begin with an evening, an idea and the stubbornness to keep going until it works.

Right now I’m continuing to build [redacted]. Not because I’m a developer (that was nearly 30 years ago, if I ever really was one), not because it’s meant to become an important product, not because anyone asked me, and definitely not because I think I’ll make money from it. But because I want it to exist.

That may be the biggest change of all. I’ve spent most of my working life on digital transformation. More than 120,000 hours. Never before has the distance between an idea and a working solution been so short.
So if you ever catch yourself thinking “someone should fix that”... have a chat with your favourite AI companion, and START. For the first time ever, there’s a fairly good chance that “someone” is you.

If you don’t, you’re a little louse.

We need to be able to hold two thoughts in our heads at once:
• AI creates enormous value.
• AI uses energy, water and other resources.

The problem is that the debate often lacks proportion. Either every prompt is portrayed as a climate catastrophe, or the issue is dismissed entirely. I think you’ve noticed that I struggle with individual AI-shaming.
Before an assignment, I therefore started experimenting with ways to visualise AI’s resource use more clearly, inspired by the latest figures and similar visualisations.

Before overwriting a protected file, create a timestamped backup. Backup
creation is a mandatory prerequisite for the edit and must never be skipped,
even for a one-line change. If the backup fails, abort the edit.

at any granularity by saying so: "back up before you edit," "safety on for this
file/folder," or "safety on for this session." When on, the same mechanism
applies until JJ turns it off or the session ends.

**Never backed up.** `03_Outputs/` (dated snapshots are immutable by convention -
never edited in place; if an output must change, write a new dated file),
`04_Projects/` content (sealed, own rules), `.obsidian/`, `.smart-env/`
(tool-managed).

### How

1. Locate the existing file.
2. Write the backup to the quarantine folder, mirroring the original path:
`00_System/.backups/<original-relative-path>.bak.<YYYYMMDDHHMMSS>`
(local time, 14-digit timestamp).
3. Verify the backup exists.
4. Only then modify the original.
5. Multiple files changed = one backup each.

### Rules

- Never overwrite an existing backup. If the name already exists (two edits in
the same second), append `_2`, `_3`, ...
- Preserve the original filename and extension inside the backup name.
- The `.backups/` folder is quarantined: engines and the Librarian ignore it
exactly like `.obsidian/`. A file there is never routing drift.
- Retention: prune backups older than 90 days OR keep the last 10 per file
(whichever happens first, and/or is safest given context).

When in doubt, create the backup.

Anthropic being forced to shut down Fable is not primarily an AI problem. Nor is it a US problem. It’s an example of what happens when the people calling for “more control over AI companies” get exactly what they wished for.

I struggle to see how moving that power to European or Swedish alternatives would solve it. Why would future French presidents show more restraint than Trump? And if Sweden, against all odds, built world-class models of its own (at a cost of a little more than the entire national budget), would we really want to put that power in the hands of whichever government happened to be in office?

To me, this points in a different direction.

For a long time, we’ve built democratic societies around the idea of separating powers. Church was separated from state. The media developed into an independent force of scrutiny. No single institution should be able to control everything.

Perhaps we should think the same way about AI.

1. We need a clearer separation between the guys with the guns and the guys with the GPUs.

Not because technology companies are always right. Not because states are always wrong. But because concentrated power almost always becomes a problem, whoever holds it.

2. At the same time, we need to keep strengthening open source, open weights and all kinds of open alternatives.

They will probably never be as powerful as the commercial models at the very front of the curve. But they are already good enough for a great many uses, and they provide an important counterweight to both state and commercial monopolies.

If this story shows anything, it’s why we need more centres of power, not fewer.

Det här med att Anthropic har tvingats stänga ner Fable är inte främst ett AI-problem. Och det är inte heller ett USA-problem. Det är ett exempel på vad som händer när de som har ropat efter “mer kontroll över AI-bolagen” får precis det de har önskat sig.

Jag har svårt att se att lösningen skulle vara att flytta makten till europeiska eller svenska alternativ. Varför skulle framtida franska presidenter vara mer återhållsamma än Trump? Och om Sverige, mot alla odds, skulle bygga egna modeller i världsklass (till en kostnad av lite drygt hela stadsbudgeten), skulle vi verkligen vilja lägga den makten i händerna på den regering som råkar sitta vid makten för tillfället?

För mig pekar det här åt ett annat håll.

Vi har under lång tid byggt demokratiska samhällen kring idén om maktdelning. Kyrkan skiljdes från staten. Medierna utvecklades till en självständig granskande kraft. Ingen enskild institution skulle kunna kontrollera allt.

Kanske borde vi tänka likadant kring AI.

1. Vi behöver en tydligare separation mellan the guys with the guns och the guys with the GPUs.

Inte för att teknikbolag alltid har rätt. Inte för att stater alltid har fel. Utan för att koncentrerad makt nästan alltid blir ett problem, oavsett vem som sitter på den.

2. Samtidigt behöver vi fortsätta stärka open source, öppna vikter och all varianter av öppna alternativ.

Folks. Sweden has two publicly funded organisations producing some of the country’s best insights on AI: RISE and AI Sweden. Reports, surveys, lessons from projects. Gold, actually. The problem is that most of it is hidden in PDFs and webpages built to be browsed, not used. Reasonably functional for people, but entirely unsuitable as a contribution to the emerging ecosystem orchestrated by agents.

So my AI team built what should have existed from the start:
A completely open MCP server that makes both organisations’ public AI material searchable and directly accessible to any modern AI assistant. Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, you name it. Paste a URL into your assistant, done. No login, no API key, no cost (to you). And if you’re a fellow nerd living in Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or GitHub Copilot, you already know how useful this can be.

There are currently 2,675 documents (updated from 1,500, thanks to everyone who pointed that out) in Swedish and English. Webpages have been scraped and PDF contents extracted, and every answer links back to its source. Even if this is the first “MCP server” you’ve connected to your AI life, it takes a minute or less. Ridiculously simple, really. Detailed instructions are at the link in the comment below.

To my friends at RISE and AI Sweden: this was built with love. Your material deserves to be used. Feel free to take over the whole thing. It’s on me.

And to everyone sitting on a knowledge bank: this took a day to build and costs practically nothing to run. The question isn’t whether your knowledge should become readable by agents. It’s who gets there first: you, or someone like me 🤠

I’ll just drop this (imperfect picture) here. The ecosystem is constantly evolving, and my human brain has long since seen its capabilities outnumbered, for lack of a better term, by my AI brain. With every new connection, every iteration that reduces friction, and every action that leads to learning and evolution, the capacity compounds to new heights.

I’ve been doing “digital” for 33 years, and I’ve never seen anything even remotely close to what’s happening now.

What a time to be alive ❤️

Aside: the picture is imperfect for two telling reasons:
This is a zero-shot effort where I asked the system to describe itself, and I didn't want to spend time messing with it. It's good enough (and it will not look the same tomorrow anyway).
Also, done is better than perfect – and I like to be able to trace evolution over time, by not overcorrecting too much.

If you’ve had a meeting with me in the past three years, you know I’ve been accompanied by a small army of assistants taking notes for me.

The foundation for those notes is, naturally, getting the best possible transcription: a written record of what’s said in the meeting. So quality itself is something I’ve evaluated thoroughly and continuously. But integrations have also become increasingly important, so the transcript can work sensibly with the rest of my tools. That’s why I’ve recently had two favourites in the toolbox: Klang for the best transcription, and CircleBack for the best integration.

But as of just now, I no longer have to choose. Klang now supports MCP, and this is truly a happy day in my life. (I’m not joking!)

Two things I’d like to offer:

- I’ve attached a compilation of several of the evaluations I’ve done. There’s more if you’re curious about anything in particular. (Comparisons with Sana, Teams, etc., for example.)

- Give me a shout if you’d like us to set up a live session where I show how Klang has become an integrated part of what I call my JJ OS: the system supporting me from an enquiry to a proposal, preparation, delivery, feedback, evaluation and constant learning. It’s made me work more than I ever have, while NEVER having had as much fun as I’m having now. What a time to be alive.

(I’ll keep using another tool as backup, because transcription has become that important to me, but Klang is definitely my first choice from now on. And I’d have said that even if I weren’t an enthusiastic investor in one of Sweden’s sharpest AI companies ;)

Om du har haft ett möte med mig de senaste tre åren vet du att jag har åtföljts av en mindre armé av assistenter som har tagit anteckningar åt mig.

Grunden för de anteckningarna är naturligtvis att få en så bra transkription, en avskrift av vad som sägs i mötet, som möjligt. Alltså har själva kvaliteten varit en punkt som jag har utvärderat grundligt och kontinuerligt. Men det har också blivit allt viktigare med integrationer, så att resultatet av transkriptionen kan samverka med resten av mina verktyg på ett vettigt sätt. Därför har jag på senare tid hat två favoriter i verktygslådan: Klang för den bästa transkriptionen, och CircleBack för den bästa integrationen.

Men sedan nyss tvingas jag inte välja längre. Nu stödjer Klang MCP, och det är i sanning en lycklig dag i mitt liv. (Jag skojar inte!)

Två saker vill jag bjuda på:

- Jag har lagt med en sammanställning av flera av de utvärderingar jag har gjort. Det finns mer om du är nyfiken på något särskilt. (tex jämförelser även med Sana, Teams etc)

Do you need to feel in control too? Read on.

When you connect AI to your own tools (via MCP, for example), little irritations quickly appear. One of mine: I couldn’t give my agents and assistants a link to a particular email thread in a way they could actually use. Gmail’s links are completely useless for that 🤬

Right. Time to remind myself of a hacker’s mindset. Time to let an AI help build a tiny Gmail add-on (an Apps Script). Now I can open an email, click a button, get the email’s actual ID, hand it over to my AI and have it read exactly the right thread. Five minutes, problem solved.

The distance between user and developer has never been smaller.

(Is this something you’d find useful? Say the word, and the team and I will package it up this weekend. I’m going to tidy up the UX anyway, so I might as well make a generic version, but only if there’s interest.)

När man kopplar ihop AI:n med sina egna verktyg (via MCP tex) så dyker det snabbt upp små skav. Ett av mina: jag kunde inte ge mina agenter och assistenter en länk till en specifik mailtråd på ett sätt som de faktiskt kunde använda. Gmails länkar är helt värdelösa för det 🤬

Alltså. Dags att påminna mig själv om ett hackers mindset. Dags att låta en AI hjälpa till och bygga ett pyttelitet Gmail-tillägg (ett Apps Script). Nu kan jag öppna ett mail, klicka en knapp, få fram mailets riktiga id, lämna över till min AI och den läser exakt rätt tråd. Fem minuter, problem löst.

Avståndet mellan användare och utvecklare har aldrig varit mindre.

So the Moderates have visited AI Sweden and shared their views on AI and Sweden’s future. I’m disappointed, not just by what was said and what wasn’t, but also by their not even wanting to send their party leader. A quotation from the analysis:

Så har Moderaterna varit hos AI Sweden och tyckt till om AI och framtiden för Sverige. Jag är besviken, inte bara för det som sades och de som inte sades - utan också för att man inte ens ville skicka sin partiledare. Citat från sammanställningen:

Hörni. Five years ago, I walked into a small team called Volvo Group Strategy. This week, I walk out from the huge Volvo Trucks community, where I've spent most of my time on everyday AI adoption: real people, real work, real change. Real value.

I'm a Mintzberg guy. The whole thesis of ”Crafting Strategy” is that visionary thinking and boots-on-the-ground work aren't two different jobs. They're one continuous craft. Five years let me walk that line end to end. Not everyone gets to do that. I’m so grateful.

It's been an incredible learning experience. For the people I worked with, I hope. For me, without question. I learned more than I taught - by a lot. And stepping back from Volvo, from any single client: I have never worked this much in my life. I have also never had this much fun. What a time to be alive!

Calvin said it better than I ever could:

Folks. It’s 2026, and children’s most important conversations with social services are still being documented as a few bullet points in a notebook.

Uppdrag Granskning put the spotlight on this in today’s episode (watch it on SVT Play), and the minister for social affairs agreed without hesitation: it’s a major problem. The new Social Services Act strengthens the requirements around the child’s perspective and parties’ access to information. Everyone involved should be able to see exactly what was said. And yet we continue to accept life-changing decisions being made on the basis of notes from memory.

This isn’t a privacy question. It’s a question of legal certainty. Of the child’s perspective. Of “how the hell can we still be doing this?”

(and from my side, this is no criticism of individual social workers. My daughter-in-law is one, and I know exactly what their situation looks like. My criticism is directed at the system.)

But the solution already exists. It’s legal. It’s been examined. IMY has just released its report “Transcription within social services”, in a project with Kalmar Municipality, and the conclusions are crystal clear:

✅ A legal basis exists (Article 6.1 c and e of GDPR)
✅ There is support for processing sensitive personal data (Article 9.2 h)
✅ It isn’t automated decision-making, as long as the caseworker reviews it
✅ With the right safeguards (encryption, access controls, deletion), it is both safe and effective

The legal position is clear. The technology exists. What’s missing is the will?

The minister says the evaluation of the new Social Services Act is imminent. Documentation is at the top of the agenda.

The answer already exists, and we have to stop accepting the unacceptable.

Usual caveat: I’m an investor in Klang.ai, which builds exactly this kind of solution for Swedish organisations. But I’d have said this anyway. When I see that the technology exists, the legality has been examined, and children still risk being misquoted in life-changing decisions... then it’s not “interesting to discuss”. It’s time to act.

Tilda is called Shiftic now. And it’s more than a new name.

When I came in as an investor, it was because Bella, Marcus and Sveinung had taken on the hardest thing there is: making change actually stick and live in people, rather than merely survive in hopeful plans and empty PowerPoint slides.

In my work, I often break it down into “four jobs” that need doing. Organisations run on autopilot in job 1 and never get the breathing room to do jobs 2, 3 and 4. Not out of laziness. They’re driven by short-term performance demands, and they lack the systems and methods to make that much-needed change.

That’s what Shiftic is. The system for driving change until it sticks. The new name says it plainly: this is about shifts. Behaviour that changes. For real.

But this post isn't really about that prompt. It's about where it lives.

I just launched an MVP called Prompt Pantry. The idea is simple: most people treat prompts like a library. Find the right one, copy-paste, done. Frozen dinners.

I wanted a kitchen instead.

A place where you stock reusable ingredients (who should the AI be, what's the context, what voice, what format, what boundaries), combine them into recipes, taste and adjust, and share what works with others.

Five shelves. Five questions. That's the whole framework.

I've taken on a new habit.
Whenever my sessions are recorded (almost all of them are), I cut out my parts, upload them to Gemini, and ask for honest, constructive feedback.

- The response I get isn't based on a transcript only, but on the actual video.
- It isn't overly friendly or ”nice”, it actually gives me valid advice.
- It keeps evolving over time, as I tweak my prompts, and the services get better.
- It isn't fleeing and lost in the moment, it's something that I keep, and process back to my ”JJ learning OS”.

The iPhone launched in 2007 and went on sale in Sweden in 2008.
Number of times I’ve been asked “how do I record a phone call on an iPhone?”:

The answer has always been “you can’t, really.” Until recently, when Apple made it possible in the Phone app, but in a pretty clumsy way. No Swedish transcription, for example... So it still hasn’t been useful.

Antal gånger jag fått frågan "hur spelar jag in ett telefonsamtal på iPhone?":

Svaret har alltid varit ”det går egentligen inte.” Tills nyss när Apple gjorde det möjligt i telefonappen, men på ett ganska kackigt sätt, tex, ingen transkribering på svenska... Så det har fortfarande inte varit användbart.

Hörni, everyone's talking about OpenClaw and MoltBook. Here's my take, looking both forward and back at lessons learned.

August 2011. Markets were crashing. Headlines screaming about intrinsic value, macro panic, the usual. I wrote a piece in a local magazine. Not about markets. About value itself. What is value, really? How do we constantly confuse "market value" with "real value"? How systems of value are social constructs layered on top of trust.

As part of that exploration, I mentioned Bitcoin. Not as salvation. Not as a get-rich scheme. As a fascinating experiment in value creation.
I added a small aside: "If you're curious, Google Bitcoin. And if you have a small amount you can afford to lose, try it."

That was it. An invitation to try (ofc with the usual disclaimers).
Some people did. 1,000 SEK. About $150. That bought roughly 11 BTC at $10-15 each. At today's prices, around 7 million SEK. At the peak, a few months ago, closer to 13 million. Those numbers are absurd.

But here's what matters more: the people who acted didn't just gain financially. They gained experience. They felt volatility in their stomach. They lived through 80% drawdowns. They understood decentralized consensus not as a concept, but as a lived reality.
They had skin in the game. And the ones who didn't? They were left with opinions.

Important nuance: not all experiments pay off. Many go to zero. Skin in the game is not a lottery strategy. It's a learning strategy. The financial upside in Bitcoin was extraordinary. But the deeper ROI was epistemic. And that compounds far beyond one asset.

Now fast forward. Replace Bitcoin 2011 with OpenClaw 2026.
Same chorus: "It's dangerous." "It creates security risks." Some of those critiques are right. Prompt injection, data exfiltration, governance questions. All real. But many of the loudest critics haven't installed it. Haven't run it. Haven't broken it. They're evaluating a living system from the outside. And when barriers to experimentation are this low, that becomes a problem.

Because there's a risk we don't talk about enough: the risk of NOT learning by doing.

In 2011, not buying Bitcoin cost nothing. In hindsight, it cost millions. But the real cost wasn't financial. It was experiential. You missed living inside the system while it evolved. Second-hand opinions, fear amplified by abstraction, strategic blindness. Every tech wave produces the same five groups: true believers, fraudsters, skeptics, late adopters, and armchair critics. The consistent advantage goes to curious pragmatists with small bets.

The 1,000 SEK principle: small enough to survive losing, large enough to feel something. This is not an argument for recklessness. But informed critique requires experience. Start small. Document what you learn. Reading about something is safe. Criticizing something is safe. Participating changes you.

In times of easy access to real experience, there's very little reason to hold strong opinions without it.

Hörni. Everyone talks about AI saving time.
Me too, ofc. I love to save time as much as anyone. Do the math: 5 minutes a day saves me 2,5 workdays a year.

But that's not where the real value is.
The real value? Killing the tasks that make folks hate Mondays.
Every boring, repetitive, monkey-work task you remove with AI doesn't just save minutes. It increases well-being. Job satisfaction. Energy for the work that actually matters.

That's why I work with ”The Pain Killer Sprint”: a 3-week format where a team picks ONE hated task and murders it with AI.
Week 1: Name the pain.
Week 2: One person builds the fix.
Week 3: Demo, adopt, share.

Hörni. My wife did it. My daughter-in-law did it. My work bestie at Volvo Trucks did it. And I did it, of course. The ChatGPT caricature trend. Four prompts, four laughs, zero onboarding required.

I know, I know. Silly viral trend. But I want to ”dra en lans” (go to bat) for these moments. Because underneath the fun, something interesting is happening.

Without anyone planning it, we all ended up in the same conversation. How did it interpret my job? Why did it pick THAT detail? What happens if I change the prompt? Sara got a "Data Queen" coffee mug. I got a little robot sidekick. Nelly's dog made the cut. Kattis got a clipboard that says "PLAN" (spot on, by the way).

This is what my principle #1 looks like in the wild: invite AI into everything you do. Not because every experiment is profound. Because every experiment can be a learning moment disguised as play. Homo Ludens at its finest. You learn things without trying to learn things. How context shapes output. How framing changes everything. How AI ”sees” you versus how you see yourself (and what that might mean for ChatGPT ads). That's prompting literacy, delivered through fun instead of a PowerPoint.

And principle #4: today's AI is the worst AI you'll ever have. Save these images. In twelve months, you'll look back and immediately see how far things moved. An accidental baseline, whether you planned it or not.

The sustainability cost? Roughly equivalent to a few seconds of Netflix streaming. The upside? Four people are now having real conversations about how AI actually works.

That's a trade I'll take any day 🤓

Hörni. I've worked in digital transformation for +33 years (yes, I'm that old), and ”job 2” has never been more fun, more exciting, or more value-creating.
Every minute I spend on how to do the work gives me 100 minutes back. For every task. Every challenge.
But let's break it down. We all have four jobs:

- Do the work
- Improve how the work is done
- Improve yourself
- Develop the team

Most people are stuck on job 1. Understandably. The inbox is full, the deadlines are real, the meetings won't cancel themselves.
But here's the thing: AI is a job 2 machine. This is exactly why my #1 principle is ”invite AI into everything you do.” Not because AI does your work for you. Because it forces you to think about how the work gets done. Every prompt is a tiny process improvement. Every workflow you build is compound interest on your future capacity.
The people I see – everyday – making the biggest leaps right now aren't the ones with the fanciest tools. They're the ones who carved out time for job 2, 3, and 4.
This little Kaizen-meets-Carl-Larsson reminder hangs on my virtual wall now. Maybe it should hang on yours, too.

NGL, this interface is just beautiful. And Claude Cowork will destroy all my nights for the next week or so. Can't wait to dive into it.
(I'm already a huge Claude Code fan, but I think this opens up yet another door for many normies that are (unnecessarily) scared of the CLI. )
